ABERDI Joins Palm Oil Trade Fair & Seminar

A Brown Energy and Resources Development, Inc. (ABERDI) joined the Palm Oil Trade Fair and Seminar (POTS) 2015 held at Makati Shangri-La on August 6-7. The event carried the theme “Enhancing Philippines Oils and Fats Need Through Malaysian Palm Oil.”

POTS was organized by the Malaysian Palm Oil Council (MPOC) and Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB). The key speaker of the said event was Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas, Malaysia’s Minister of Plantation Industries and Commodities, who opened the two-day event. There were around 500 delegates from traders, manufacturers, buyers and direct accounts. Among the important topics discussed are the Palm Oil Current Issues & Developments, Nutrition and Application of Palm Oil, Growth & Investment Opportunities Through Oil Palm Plantation Forum.

ABERDI, a subsidiary of A Brown Company Inc. (ABCI) whose business is engaged in the development of land for palm oil production and the sale of palm seedlings and crude palm oil, was represented by Senior Sales & Marketing Manager Elmer Ian P. Pabatao and Mill Manager Daylinda P. Engada. The seminar tackled important issues affecting the trade of oils and fats that were presented by selected industry experts.

According to Dr. Pablito P. Pamplona of Philippine Palm Oil Development Council, Inc. there is an increasing huge national shortage of Vegetable Oil. In 2012, the Philippine population had around 95.8M, with a Palm oil import of 500,750 MT and an import value of P27.50 billion. It is projected that by 2017 the Philippine population will grow to 120.1M, and Palm Oil import will double to 1,000,000MT with an import value of P54.50 billion.

A Brown Energy and Resources Development, Inc. (ABERDI), with its principal office address at Malubog, Impasug-ong, Bukidnon, is formerly named A Brown Energy Inc. Wholly owned by ABCI, the company was formed on February 21, 2001 with a starting paid in capital of PHP 10 million. After 17 months, the By-Laws of the corporation, including its corporate name, was amended in order to cater the different types of businesses relating to trading in general, exploration, development and production or energy and power resources, mining and quarry, and real estate development. Its primary purpose is to engage in the business of manufacturing and trading of goods such as crude oil and petroleum products on wholesale/retail basis.
